Mike's Family has plenty of history in this historic area. His 4th Great Grandfather William Scott was born on 2 December 1786, in Bedford, Virginia, British Colonial America, son of, Axton Scott, and Dorcas Wright. William Scott married Elizabeth McCoy, in 1807. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 6 daughters. Elizabeth McCoy was a sister to the parents of Asa Harmon, Randolph "Randall" sons of Daniel McCoy and Sarah McCoy daughter of Samuel McCoy making the feudist Mike's 1st cousin's on his father's side. William and Elizabeth Scott and lived in Floyd County (which is now Pike County), Kentucky, United States for about 10 years. He died on 22 October 1864, in Pike, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 77, and is buried off Josh Hollow in the Bobby Scott Jr Cemetery, in Hardy, Pike County, Kentucky, United States.
Julius Scott (Mike's Great Grandfather) was married to Polly Hatfield, and she was the daughter of "Preacher/Deacon Anse" Hatfield (Whom over saw the Infamous Hog Trial) and Polly Runyon. So Mike and his family are true descendants of both the Hatfield's and McCoy's!
As if that were not enough,
Mike's mother was Bonnie Sue Hackworth and her Grandmother was a Martha Webb through his genealogy research shows Mike is a 3rd cousin to Lorretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle both famous members of Country Music Hall of Fame. Mike during his navy time rode bulls in the rodeo, and after his stint in the US Navy became a Professional Wrestler working with several wrestling organizations, with his last being for World Championship Wrestling before he retired from ring action.
Since then Mike and Lynn purchased their first Trail Houses built on KY Hwy 319 by Mike's Great Grandfather Julius Scott who had built it for his Uncle Charlie and Aunt Brookie Scott in 1940. The house fell out of the family for sometime, but Lynn and Mike were able to purchase it back, and brought it back in to the family again. Mike and his family have done what is necessary to up-date the home while keeping the integrity family members will appreciate. Due to being related to Both Sides of the Famous "Hatfield McCoy Fued" Lynn and Michael decided to aptly name their business in honor of both families with the last being part being Haven, meaning a safe place to stay. So Welcome to Hatfield McCoy Haven!!!
